‘Bangladesh successfully marching toward middle income country’

Bangladesh has been successfully marching toward a middle income nation following tremendous success achieved by the present government in every sector.

This opinion came at a discussion titled ‘Informing people about the government’s success, achievement, development plans, Prime Minister’s special initiatives, involving people with uplift activities, preventing terrorism and militancy’, a press release said on Tuesday.

District Information Office organised the discussion in Taraganj Upazila Parishad auditorium in the district on Monday afternoon with Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zilufa Sultana in the chair.

Local lawmaker Abul Kalam Md Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury attended the discussion as the chief guest.

Taraganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman Litan, Upazila Vice-chairmen Ataur Rahman and Mahmuda Akhter, president of upazila Awami League Matiur Rahman and its General Secretary Dr Nazrul Islam addressed as special guests.

In his keynote presentation, Senior District Information Officer Humayun Kobir narrated the huge success achieved by the present government during the past eight years in every sector of development.

He discussed the success achieved in improving socioeconomic condition of common people, social safety-net, education, health, sanitation, agriculture, electricity, family planning, women and children development and climate change adaptation.

He also narrated the success achieved in poverty alleviation, employment, expanding ICT, creating awareness on woman and child rights, family planning, female education, birth registration, addiction, reproductive health, terrorism and corruption.

Besides, he informed about implementation of the Prime Minister’s ten special nativities to attain the sustainable development goals in the process of building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed country by 2041.

The chief guest cited the massive developments completed throughout the country, including Taraganj upazila, by the present government improving socioeconomic condition of the common people during the past eight years.

He expressed firm hope that Bangladesh would become a middle income nation ahead of the year 2021 and called upon all concerned for working sincerely to implement the government’s development activities for attaining the goals.
