Oishee appeals against death sentence

Oishee Rahman filed an appeal with the High Court on Sunday morning, seeking acquittal of the charges.

Dhaka Third Speedy Trial Tribunal sentenced Oishee to death on November 12 for killing her father inspector of special branch (SB) of police, Mahfuzur Rahman and mother Swapna Rahman.

The court also sentenced Oishee`s friend Mizanur Rahman Roni two-year-imprisonment and fined Taka five thousand for giving her shelter after the crime she had committed.

The court framed two separate charges for the two murders and sentenced Oishee death twice and fined her Taka 40 thousand for two separate crimes.

The copy of the verdict along with the death reference reached the High Court on November 19.
