Diaz’s death: CU asst proctor removed

Chittagong University has removed its assistant proctor Anwar Hossain after he was implicated in a murder case filed over death of Bangladesh Chhatra League central leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhury.

Professor Dr. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of the university, on Monday confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com. But he didn’t explain why Anwar Hossain is removed from the post of assistant proctor.

In this connection, Anwar Hossain told Jagonews24.com that, he is not informed about this matter.

On November 24, Diaz’s mother lodged a murder case with a Chittagong court against around 20 people, including Anwar Hossain and CU BCL President Mohammad Alamgir Tipu.

Diaz’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his bedroom at his family’s rented house at the university’s Gate-2 area last week.
