Housewife strangled to death for dowry

A housewife was strangled to death by her husband in Rajaire upazila of Madaripur.

The victim was identified as Banecha Begum, wife of Jahirul Haque Molla.

Police arrested Jahirul on charge of murder of his wife. The dead body was taken to Madaripur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Md. Anwar Hosen Bhuyan, officer-in-charge of Rajaire Police Station informed the matter to journalist.

According to source, the couple had married off four years ago. Since their marriage Jahirul used to torture Banecha over dowry.

On Thursday the couple locked in a quarrel over dowry. At one stage Jahirul strangled to death her wife.
