Ivy resigns as NCC mayor
Selina Hayat Ivy resigned as Narayanganj City Corporation mayor to vie in the upcoming Narayanganj City Corporation elections, which will be held on December 22.
He submitted her resignation letter to the minister for Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives around 3:30pm on Wednesday.
I tried my level best in last five years to spread Narayanganj city. More works are underway including the beautification of Baburail’s canal estimated cost 200 crore.
She said this while talking to journalists at a press conference after the resignation.
‘Last 13 years, as a mayor of municipality then the city corporation, I never stopped for development of Narayanganj in spite of many conspiracies and propagandas against me,’ Ivy said.
‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told us to work for the Boat symbol. I urge people of Narayanganj to vote me for serving them again. I hope we will be united as soon as possible for the upcoming election,’ she added.
It is mentionable that the deadline for nomination submission for the polls is Thursday and the deadline to withdraw candidacy is on December 4. The polls will be held on December 22.
