Mahmudur Rahman released on bail
Acting editor of the daily Amar Desh Mahmudur Rahman was freed on bail on Wednesday.
Nashir Ahmed, Jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail-2, confirmed Jagonews24.com of his release around 1pm this afternoon.
The acting editor of daily Amar Desh is accused in 70 cases including sedition. He also acted as energy adviser to BNP chief Khaleda Zia during her last term as prime minister.
Mahmudur Rahman has been behind bars since April 11, 2013. The Supreme Court upheld his bail in the case on plots to kill Sajeeb Wazed Joy on October 31 and paved way for his release.
