Ban on raw jute export

The textiles and jute ministry on Thursday issued a gazette notification to ban on the exports of all sorts of raw jute until further notice.

It said export of raw jute was forbidden for implementing the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act-2010 properly.

Baby Parveen senior Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Textiles and Jute has signed on the gazette.

Earlier, a similar ban was imposed for a month from Nov 3.
