Garo girl rape: Rubel gives confessional statement

Rafsan Hossen Rubel, the main accused in the case of raping a Garo girl in capital’s Badda area, gave confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Sunday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded the statement of Rubel.

After recording the statement, the magistrate sent him to jail.

Sub-Inspector B M Mamun of Badda Police Station, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced Rubel before the magistrate.

On Tuesday, a Dhaka court placed Rubel on a six-day remand for allegedly raping a Garo girl.

Rapid Action Battalion arrested Rubel last Friday and then he was handed over to Badda Police Station from where he escaped.

There are nine cases of rape, terrorism and extortion against Rubel with Badda and Rampura police stations.
