Bus plunges into pond, 2 body recovered

At least two people were killed and eight people went missing after a bus plunged into a road side pond in Madaripur early Saturday.

The incident took place on Dhaka-Barisal highway at Pantapara village under Dasa Thana. The deceased was identified as Kamal Uddin, 35, hailing from Barguna.

Officer-in-Charge of Dasher Thana Emdadul Haq said a Barisal-bound bus of Eagle Paribahan from Dhaka plunged into a road side pond as the driver lost control over it.

Madaripur Fire Service and Dasher police are now conducting the rescue operation, he added.
