Garo girl rape: Main accused put on 6-day remand

A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed Rubel, the prime accused of raping an ethnic girl, who fled from custody two days ago, recaptured from capital’s Badda area, on a six day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Hasan Chowdhury passed the order when Sub-Inspector of Badda Police Station A B M Mamun produced Rubel before the court seeking a 10-day remand for interrogation.

Rubel is an accused of raping a girl of Garo ethnic community last month in Badda area. Rapid Action Battalion arrested Rubel last Friday and then he was handed over to Badda Police Station from where he escaped.

There are nine cases of rape, terrorism and extortion against Rubel with Badda and Rampura police stations.
