3 killed as villagers clash in Narsingdi

Three people were killed and at least 30 others were injured including six police staffs in a clash between two groups of rival villagers over establishing supremacy in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Momen Mia, Manik Mia and Khokon Sarkar.

Confirming the matter Narsingdi Superintendent of Police said, police have arrested thirteen people in this connection.

Quoting witnesses, police said two groups of villagers one led by Abdul Huq, former UP chairman, and another led by Tajul, current UP chairman, clashed over establishing supremacy in the area.Thirty were injured during the clash.

The injured were taken to Local Health Complex and different hospitals in Brahmanbaria.
