Family meets Salauddin in jail

Family members of convicted war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury met him at Dhaka Central Jail on Tuesday noon.

Around nine members of Salauddin`s family, including his wife and two of their sons, entered the jail around 12:30pm and left the jail around 1:30pm.

After a near-one hour meeting, the family members went away without talking to the media.

Salauddin has been brought to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur High Security Jail yesterday, right after his review petition was rejected by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.

Now his only way to live is to seek and win Presidential clemency.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam yesterday said that now there is no legal bar in executing Salauddin`s death sentence as the legal process has come to an end with the rejection of the review plea.
