2 Bangladeshis gunned down by Indians

Two Bangladeshi national were gunned down and two others injured by Indian Khasia community at Shonarhat frontier under Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet on Wednesday.

The injured were admitted to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet.

The deceased were identified as Baccu Mia, 35, son of Abdul Gafur and Fayzul Islam, 33, son of Azir uddin, resident of Pantumai village of the upazila.

The injured were identified as Abdur Sabur Mia and Abdul Kayum, siblings of Fayzul.

Local sources said, Baccu along with Fayzul and his siblings trespassed into India, while they were crossing the Shonarhat frontier near pillar no 1269, the Indian Khasia community shot at them during that time Baccu Mia died on the spot when his associates were sustained bullet-hit injury.

Later locals rescued them and sent to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet as their condition deteriorate.

Fayzul succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital around 6pm.

Abdus Salam, West Jaflong UP chairman, confirmed the matter to Jagonews.
