Call for unity to build Bangabandhu’s ‘Sonar Bangla’

Speakers at a discussion meeting in the city on Wednesday observed that the anti-liberation clique had killed Father of the National Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members in 1975 to make Bangladesh devoid of merit and leadership, reports BSS.

Bangabandhu Memorial Foundation and Dainik Nabochetana jointly organized the discussion on ‘Bangabandhu’s Ideals and Development by Pro-Liberation War Government’ at the National Press Club.

Presided over by Bangabandhu Memorial Foundation President and Nabochetana Editor Sakhawat Hossain, the meeting was addressed by Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun as the chief guest while State Minister for Planning MA Mannan and former State Minister Advocate Shamsul Huq Tuku were present as the special guests.

Jatiya Party Presidium Member Nazmun Nahar Baby, AL Dhaka North Vice-President Nazim Uddin, Nabochetana Executive Editor Reduwan Khandaker and Bangabandhu Memorial Foundation General Secretary Shah Alam took part in the discussion, among others.

Advocate Sahara Khatun said the anti-liberation forces are destabilizing the country through secret killings, arson attacks and various conspiracies.

‘They must be resisted with unity,’ she added.

Referring to the anti-militancy campaigns of the government, the AL leader called upon all to be united to eliminate anti-liberation evil forces.

She appreciated the current trend of development in the country and said digital Bangladesh is no more a dream but reality now.

Shamsul Huq Tuku called for building united resistance against those committing heinous activities in the name of religion and politics.

There is no alternative to be united to build the ‘Sonar Bangla’ of Bangabandhu’s dream, he said and called upon all to come forward being imbued with the ideals of Bangabandhu’s inheritor Sheikh Hasina.

Other speakers said the assassins had brutally killed four national leaders after killing Bangabandhu in August 1975 to eliminate the spirit of the Liberation War.

But their conspiracy was not successful as Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has changed context of history, they added.
