Govt distributes ICT equipment to 23,331 educational institutes
The government has distributed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment like laptop, multi media projector, speaker, modem along with Internet connection among 23,331 educational institutions across the country.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday told the parliament that the government would expand the ICT facilities in Education at the Secondary and Higher Secondary Level. "The government has trained 24,122 teachers for preparing digital content for multi-media classroom under the project," he said while replying to a question from treasury bench member Kazi Keramat Ali of Rajbari-1.
Besides, the government has provided training to 9,15,778 teachers on computer, English, mathematics, along with different subjects, he told the House.
Nahid said the government also trained 5,43,784 headmasters, assistant teachers, madrasa teachers, district education officers, upazila secondary education officers and members of school managing committee under the Secondary Education project.
"We have provided special training to 2,142 under privileged and minority group people from Rangamati and Patuakhali district," he said adding that the government has also brought 5,03,372 students from 1,051 educational
institutions under the study behaviour improvement programme.
