President, Prime Minister pay tributes to Bhasani President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid their rich tributes to the memories of Moulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani marking the 39th death anniversary of the veteran politician Tuesday.
In his message on the eve of the day the President said the nation always recalls contribution of "Majlum Jananeta", the leader of the downtrodden, Moulana Bhasani, with deep respect.
"I believe, the ideal of Moulana Bhasani will inspire the new generation to become patriotic," he said.
Terming Moulana Bhasani as one of torchbearers of the country`s movement for independence, the President said he (Bhasani) fought against suppression throughout his entire life.
In a separate message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Moulana Bhasani had "deep idealistic unity and political closeness" with Greatest Bengali of all Time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said he (Bhasani) had struggled in his entire life to build an oppression-free, progressive, democratic and secular Bangladesh.
The Prime minister said Bhasani had made important contributions in expanding Bangalee nationalism.
