Second phase of Ijtema from Friday
Second phase of Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of Muslims around the world after Hajj, is going to be held from Friday on the bank of the river Turag. An estimated 33 thousand Muslims are expected to come to join the 2nd part.
Devotees have already started coming to the ground of Ijtema despite the ongoing blockade and strike called by the Bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP)-led 20-party alliance. Though, the picketers reportedly are not barring the vehicles carrying devotees to Ijtema as long they are holding banners of Ijtema.
Devotees from 33 districts, including Dhaka and Narayangaj are participating in the second phase of Ijtema. The Ijtema ground has been allocated in 39 units for convenience.
