2 ‘abductors’ lynched in Bandarban

Two suspected abductors were killed in a mob beating at Haragachh area of Fasiagali union under Lama upazila in Bandarban early Wednesday.

Confirming the matter, Iqbal Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Lama Police Station, said the deceased’s bodies were brought to police station. Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

According to source, a gang of abductors intercepted a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Fakirakhola area around 12.30am and picked up four people - Kalu Putu, 38, Jakir Alam, 35, Jaber Ahmmed, 50, Monhor Ali, 60.

Sensing the incident, locals chased them off. At one stage, they caught two of the gang members and gave them a mass beating, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

On information, police rescued the four abducted people and recovered the bodies of the abductors from the spot.
