2 Jamaat leaders arrested with arms in Rajshahi

Two leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested from Chokorpara Moholla of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi on Monday around 8pm.

They are Monirul Islam, 52, Ameer (chief) of Arani Municipality Jamaat and Belal Hosen, 45, President of Arani unit.    

According to police, acting on a tip off, they arrested one when Jamaat leaders were holding a secrete meeting. Later police conducted a drive in other place and arrested second one with arms.

Ali Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station, police recovered a foreign made pistol, a magazine and some Jihadi books from one possession.
