5 die after consuming toxic liquor in Rangpur

At least five people died after consuming toxic liquor at Barodorga Bazar under Pirgachha upazila of Rangpur in the last 36 hours until Monday.

The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 40, Abdul Kalam Azad, 42, Shahjahan Ali, 43, Mozibar Rahman, 45 and Ramnath, 55, all from Rangpur.

An unidentified person, who also drank the liquor, was undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirgachha Police Station Aminul Islam said the incident came to surface when Anwar Hossain and Abul Kalam Azad, who were hospitalised yesterday, died today.
