ASI killed road accident in Rajshahi

An Assistant Sub-inspector of Police(ASI) was killed when his motorbike collided head-on with a auto-rickshaw at in
front of Rajshahi Court Academy School under Rajpara Police Station in the city on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Chanchal Kumar Mondal, 40, son of Kanchan Mondal. Hailed from Bhandaripur village under Akkelpur Upazila of Joypurhat district he was posted in Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

Mahmudur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Rajpara Police Station, told the journalists that he met the accident while he was going to court for official duty around 10 am.

Immediately, locals rushed him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead, the OC added.

His body was handed over to the family members in presence of RMP high officials and others concerned.
