Online newspaper registration starts

The Press Information Department (PID) has started registration process of all online newspapers to ensure the government benefits to their publishers and also to check yellow journalism.

All publishers of online newspapers have to fill up specific form and affidavit and submit those to the informational department for being registered, an official handout said on Monday.

The publishers of online newspapers have to apply for the registration by December 15, 2015.

The samples of the form and affidavit are available at protocol branch of Information department as well as the department`s website www.pressinform.portal.gov.bd, the handout said.

The information department will give registration to online newspapers after examining all information.
