Hartal going on

Country wide dawn to dusk Hartal called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led 20-party alliance is going on. Starting from 6 am it will continue till 6 in the evening.

A bus was reportedly burnt at begining of the strike on early Thursday by the picketers in Gazipur.

The alliance called the hartal protesting the attack on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Reaz Rahman on Tuesday. Initially they called a 24-hour strike; later a press release signed by party’s Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said it would be a 12-hour dawn to dusk strike.
