Attack on Khadiza: SUST expels Badrul

The authority of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) expelled their student Badrul Alam who brutally hacked Khadiza Akhter Nargis, a student of Sylhet Government Women’s College.

The decision was taken at the 201th syndicate meeting presided over by SUST Vice-Chancellor Prof Aminul Haq Bhuiya on Sunday.

Badrul is the student of department of Economics of the university and also Assistant General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League of SUST unit.

Confirming the matter, university’s Registrar Ishfaqul Hosen, said, Badrul was expelled for lifetime.

Earlier, SUST authorities suspended Badrul following a meeting of the university proctorial body.

The proctorial body also formed a three-member committee led by acting proctor Rashed Talukder to investigate the attack.

It is mentionable that, Khadiza, 23, daughter of Masuk Miah of Biswanath upazila, was hacked by SUST unit BCL leader Badrul Alam on her way home from college on October 3.
