Asma Kibria passes away

Asma Kibria, noted painter and wife of former Awami League (AL) government`s finance minister late Shah AMS Kibria, died of cardiac arrest on Monday morning. She was 78.

Asma breathed her last at a private hospital in the capital city around 9.10am.

She left behind a son Dr. Reza Kibria and a daughter Nazli Kibria, a host of relatives, well-wishers and admirers to mourn her death.

Her first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Azad Mosque in Gulshan here while the second one at Banani Graveyard and afterwards she will be buried there.

Dr. Reza Kibria on behalf of the Kibria family has sought blessings from the countrymen for eternal peace of her soul.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the demise of Asma Kibria.

In a message of condolence she conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
