Zafar Iqbal, Yasmeen get death threat

Noted writer Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and his wife Professor Dr. Yasmeen Haque received a death threat through SMS on mobile phone.

They are the teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet.

Akter Hosen, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad police station, confirmed the matter on Saturday.

Zafar Iqbal told the journalists that, ‘He received the death through a SMS on Wednesday night from a mobile phone which number is 01629967551 that said, ‘Hi Unbeliever! We will strangulate you soon.’

Besides, Professor Yasmeen Haque, also received death threat from the same number that said, ‘Welcome to our top list! Your breath may stop at anytime-ABT.’

In this connection, Zafar Iqbal filed a general diary with Jalalabad police station on Friday evening mentioning that he received the death threat on Wednesday.
