Lynch mob kills robber in Lakshmipur

A dacoit was killed by a lynch mob at Kamalnagar area in Lakshmipur after he was caught by the residents on late Thursday night.

The deceased is Abul Hossain, 55 son of Abdul Haq of underchar area in Shudaram upazila in Noakhali.

Quoting locals Officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station Kabir Ahmed said a group of robbers were taking preparation for robbery on Thursday night.

Sensing the matter, locals chased the robbers and caught Abdul Haq when he and his accomplices were fleeing and beat him to injure. Later he was taken to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital where doctor declared him dead.

Police are investigating the matter, he added.
