Two Shibir men held with 101 crude bombs in Sylhet
Police have arrested two alleged activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir in separate drives with 101 crude bombs, two pipe guns and some jihadi (religious uprising) books while taking preparation for conducting subversive activities in Hatubhanga area of Fenchuganj upazila on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Mozammel Hossain 20, son of Kamrul Islam of Hatubhanga village, and Rumon Mia, 21, son of Sirajul Islam of Nizampur village in the upazila.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in Ashighor area of the upazila around 3:30 am and recovered eight crude bombs, said Nandan Kanti Dhar, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police Station.
Later the law enforcers conducted a raid in Faridpur Hatubhanga area around 7:15 am and arrested the two Jamaat men along with 95 crude bombs, some jihadi books and two pipe guns, said OC.
They were taken to Fenchuganj Police Station.
