Rangamati building collapse death toll rises to 5
The death toll in the Rangamati building collapse reached five on Wednesday morning. The rescue operation is underway.
The deceased are Md. Jahid, 40, his daughter Pinky Akter, 13, Umme Habiba, 22, Sajedul, 10 and Samadul, 7.
Firefighters, army, navy and police are conducting the rescue operation. Manjarul Mannan, Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati, Hasan Tariqul Hasan, Superintendent of Police and high-ups of different law enforcers visited the spot.
The building collapsed around 5:30pm near at Mohila College Gate area of the town. The causes behind the collapse are yet to known.
