4 dead after truck overturns in Tangail

Four men were killed and six other injured after a truck overturned and plunged into the roadside ditch in Tangail.

The incident took place on Dhaka-Tangail Bangabandhu Bridge at Jokar Char of Kalihati upazila on Wednesday at 6.30am.

Three of the four were identified. They are Sohel, 35, son of Bukai Miah under Bera upazila hailed from Pabna, Sujon, 38, son of Asadur Rahman, of Komolpur village under Saghata upazila of Gaibandha, Afsar, 60, son of Kafil Uddin, of Hasimpur under Shibganj of Bogra.

The injured people were admitted to Tangail Medical College and Hospital.

In this connection, Achabur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police, said, a Bogra bound cement laden truck from Dhaka overturned and plunged into the road side ditch. At that time four passengers were killed and six injured.
