3 killed in building collapse in Rangamati
Three persons were killed when a three-storey building collapsed on the Kaptai Lake in Rangamati, with at least three people trapped inside, police said on Tuesday.
The three-storeyed building collapsed at about 5:30pm, a police official said.
The deceased were identified as Zahid, 40, his 13-year-old daughter Pinky Akhter, and Umme Habiba 22.
Army, fire brigade, police personnel and locals joined hands for the rescue operation. The official said that rescue work was continuing as three people were trapped inside.
