Amit threatens hanging Bangladeshi ‘infiltrators’ upside down
Indian home minister Amit Shah on Friday said that every single Bangladeshi “infiltrator” would be straightened by hanging them upside down, once the BJP forms the government in Jharkhand state where elections to take place this year.
Speaking at a rally during the launch of the Parivartan Yatra in Sahibganj, Amit emphasised that the yatra would reach every village in the state by October 2, spreading a message of change, reports The Telegraph.
"Change not just for a new chief minister or to bring the BJP into power, but to remove this corrupt government and install one that can tackle corruption," Amit said at Bhognadih, Santhal Pargana, a site revered as the birthplace of tribal freedom fighter Sidhu Kanhu.
Appealing for support to form a BJP government, Amit iterated, "We will straighten out every single Bangladeshi infiltrator by hanging them upside down."
He echoed previous BJP claims about the declining tribal population and the increasing presence of "Bangladeshi intruders" in Santal Pargana.
"This land belongs to the tribals, yet their numbers have fallen from 44% to 28%. Intruders, backed by the JMM, Congress, and RJD, are benefiting from government welfare schemes intended for public welfare," Shah alleged.
He also claimed that anti-Hindu slogans, such as "Hindus leave Jharkhand," were being raised in Pakur district.
Amit thanked the Jharkhand High Court for ordering the formation of a committee to investigate infiltration from Bangladesh and stated that the Centre, in cooperation with the Jharkhand government, would soon launch an inquiry.
