Saudi Arabia to celebrate Eid on Wednesday

Saudi Arabia and the other Middle Eastern countries will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday, as the moon of the month of Shawwal has not been sighted there.

Eid is usually celebrated in Bangladesh a day after Saudi Arabia. Keeping with that, it is likely that Muslims in Bangladesh will celebrate their biggest religious festival on Thursday.

The Saudi authorities declared that Wednesday will be the first day of Eid when the Shawwal moon was not sighted, reported state-owned Saudi Press Agency.

They also decided that Ramadan in the kingdom will end on Tuesday, the 30th day.
