Taiban has not suffered casualties: Mujahid
The Taliban has not suffered any casualties in bomb attacks on the Hamid Karzai airport in Afghanistan's Kabul, the group's spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the BBC's Pashto service.
"We (Taliban) have not suffered any casualties. The incident took place in an area that is controlled by US forces," he said.
This is in direct contrast to an earlier report by Reuters which stated that at least 28 Taliban members had been killed in the attacks.
Earlier Thursday night, two explosions were reported near the Abbey Gate of the airport, being used for evacuations at Kabul airport, leaving 90 people dead and more than 150 injured.
Among the dead, at least 13 were US soldiers.
An affiliate of the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.
The bombings came hours after US and UK officials told their citizens to avoid the airport, citing an imminent threat from militants.
On August 15, the Taliban claimed victory in Afghanistan after taking over the capital Kabul, bringing to a swift end almost 20 years of a US-led coalition's presence in the country.
Since then, Afghan citizens have desperately been trying to flee Taliban rule despite it declared a 'general amnesty.'
