Women Empower Women catering for orphanage during Ramadan

During the Holy month of Ramadan, a group of passionate individuals named Bristi, Lily and Idris decided to create a project titled “Buka Puasa'' under the nonprofit organization “Women Empower Women” In Malaysia.

The group’s intention was to organise a special event which they will cater to the orphanage. To do the work, the team was successfully able to collaborate with McDonald's CSR Komuniti McDonald’s & RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities).

They were grateful to find sponsors to help with the catering. The Mcd staff helped distribute the food boxes along with each member of the team contributing greatly for the orphanage. They were able to deliver happy meals, toys, fruits, juices, puddings and snacks to the Pusat Jagaan Baitul Hidayah orphanage and feeding over 65 orphans.

The team also received help from Sunway Future X (an urban farm near Sunway University) with fresh hydroponic grown vegetables. In order to make this possible, the Women Empower Women collaborated with One World One Family in particular, project R.A.I.S.E. A project aimed to support disadvantaged undocumented children and orphanages which was co-created by students Bristi and Idris.

Both One World One Family and Women Empower Women aim to work together in the future with providing for the disadvantaged society through the work of humanitarian effort. They look forward to continuing to help and servee the community.
