US COVID-19 deaths top 72,000

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the United States topped 72,000 on Wednesday morning.
The US novel coronavirus death toll reached 72,271 as of 9:30am (Bangladesh local time), according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
The country has reported 1,237,633 cases of infections, also the highest in the world, showed the tally.
The state of New York suffered the most, with 330,139 cases and 25,204 deaths. Other hardest-hit states included New Jersey with 8,292 deaths, Michigan with 4,179 deaths, and Massachusetts with 4,212 deaths, the data showed.
