Malaysia detains more Bangladeshis in fresh raids
The Department of Immigration of Malaysia and joint force detained more 200 undocumented immigrants including Bangladeshis in fresh raids on “Bangla Market” and “Masjid India” in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Immigration department and the joint force started the three-and-a-half hour raids at 12:30 pm under the supervision of Immigration department’s Director General (DG) Mostafa Ali.
Mostafa Ali said, “Some employers are repeatedly breaching laws recruiting illegal foreign workers and that’s why we conducted the drive as continuous routine work.”
“A group of people, who are involved in prostitution here, was also detained in this drive” he added.
Earlier, the authority detained more than 500 illegal immigrants conducting raids in the same area on Saturday.
