UK election: Rushanara holds in Bethnal Green and Bow
Bangladeshi-origin Labour Party candidate Rushanara Ali has won from Bethnal Green and Bow in the UK election 2017.

Apart from, Bangladeshi-origin Labour MPs Tulip Siddiq and Rupa Huq have been re-elected from their respective constituencies.
Ali was born in Bishwanath, Sylhet District, Bangladesh. With her family, Ali emigrated to the East End of London at the age of seven, where she attended Mulberry School for Girls and Tower Hamlets College.
