Melania Trump is `miserable` with life as First Lady
US First Lady Melania Trump is reportedly "miserable" in her new life centred in politics.
It`s no secret that the 48-year-old model is taking some time to warm to her new White House role, which is apparent from the face that she still lives in New York and has made only a handful of public appearances since Donald Trump`s inauguration on January 20.
Melania made it clear that she and Barron (10) would remain in their $100m penthouse apartment in Trump Tower in order for him to finish his school year and smooth the transition for him, but now insiders claim the mother-of-one is struggling to cope with the xxxxx attention on her and her family.
According to sources, the Slovenia native previously drover her son to school every day, but since their home is often picketed and protested, the Secret Service "take Barron to school and retrieve him".
"This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s. Truthfully, it’s a lot to cope with," an insider told Us Weekly.
Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up. She is miserable."
She joined her husband at the `winter White House`, their Mar-a-Lago private club alst weekend for a state visit with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife Akie.
During this trip, she went on a solo excursion with Akie for a tour of the Japanese gardens in Delray Beach, Florida and members of her team issued a statement stating she will be tending to the White House garden so beloved by Michelle Obama.
Us Weekly previously reported that Melania had "no intention" of ever moving to the White House with her husband, who is living in their private quarters alone.
The day their article stipulating that Melania and Barron hey will "could go either way" when it came to a permanent move to Washington D.C., the First Lady issued a statement explaining her relative absence from public life.
She has hired her Chief of Staff as Lindsay Reynolds, a former associate director of the White House Visitor’s Office during the George W. Bush administration, and is "putting together a professional and highly-experienced team".
"It has been an honour to take on the responsibility of the position of First Lady, with its long history as an important representative of the President, our family, and the traditions of our nation around the world," she said in a statement released by the White House.
"I am putting together a professional and highly-experienced team which will take time to do properly. I am excited to be organizing and bringing together such a dynamic and forward thinking group of individuals who will work together to make our country better for everyone."
The White House insists Melania will be moving to Washington later this year, with senior adviser to the first lady Stephanie Winston Wolkoff saying: "Mrs. Trump will be moving to D.C. and settling in to the White House at the end of the school year, splitting her time between New York and D.C. in the meantime.
"Mrs. Trump is honoured to serve this country and is taking the role and responsibilities of first lady very seriously. It has only been a short time since the inauguration and the first lady is going to go about her role in a pragmatic and thoughtful way that is unique and authentic.
