Bangladeshi killed in Malaysia landslide
A Bangladeshi man was killed after he was buried by a landslide at Kuala Terla, Kg Raja in Cameron Highlands on Wednesday morning.
The deceased, Md Belel Miidha, 28, who is related to a worker in a flower farm here, was killed in the 3am incident.
Cameron Highlands OCPD Deputy Supt Hasadid A. Hamid said the landslide happened next to a makeshift barn at the foot of a hill.
Based on witnesses accounts, he said Md Belel came to the farm on Tuesday to meet his relative and had slept in the barn.
"Due to continuous rain, landslide occurred in that area at around 3am," he said.
DSP Hasadid said the deceased`s relative managed to escape from the landslide.
His body was brought to Hospital Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom for a post-mortem.
