Jayalalithaa death: 3 days holiday declared for institutions

All schools and colleges in Indian state Tamil Nadu will remain closed for the next three days following the demise of chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday night.

Principal Secretary to the school education department Sabitha D told that all education institutions in the state would be shut for three days from Tuesday till Thursday, clarifying confusion surrounding the status of schools and colleges.

Apollo Hospitals announced on Tuesday morning that Jayalalithaa, who had been undergoing treatment since September 22, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
