Food blogger Noman's BD Best Ever Food crosses million

One of the food bloggers in Bangladesh is Abdullah Al Noman of ''BD Best Ever Food''.

Noman posts his videos on YouTube and Facebook. His YouTube channel "BD Best Ever Food" has more than 700k subscribers, Facebook page BD Best Ever Food has more than 1.3k followers.

Abdullah Al Noman, from Mymensingh, said when the pandemic hit Bangladesh, and everyone was confined to their homes, Noman watched his first Mukbang video. I bought my first smartphone two years ago. I saw a video of a Korean man eating food and I loved how beautifully he ate. I used to eat while watching videos like this.

He added that he noticed the YouTube views of the videos and got inspired as they could earn a lot from them. "Choose this path because I love to eat."

But Noman's path was not smooth. He faced criticism for choosing such an unconventional way to earn money. At one point the young man also got frustrated when he found that his videos did not have enough reach. Still, Noman was adamant and soon a video of him went viral on social media. He never looked back.

Noman said: “I was thrilled when I got my first income - $100 deposited in my bank account. I used it all to make more food videos. I also tried to improve the quality of my videos.”

He said that after the quality of his videos improved, he gained over 1 lakh subscribers in just three months. "My income increased from Tk 10,000 to Tk 150,000 a month."

Talking to the reporter, the youth also said that people find making videos and eating food easy.

“But it's not. At some point, we have to eat so much food. Then we have to plan for the next meal. We have to shop for the food, cook it and then edit the videos too. So, a video takes a lot of time and effort. Noman later advised Bangladeshi youths to take up YouTube, as it pays well without running after a job.

Noman is the youngest of six siblings. He lost his father 20 years ago. Their family was supported by his father's pension money. Presently Noman of BD Best Ever Food is currently studying in a local Madrasah.
