Content creator Ashraful Alam, popularly known as Hero Alam, was attacked at the Bogura Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court premises on Sunday.

The assault occurred around noon, and Hero Alam claimed that the attackers, who he identified as BNP supporters, accused him of insulting BNP Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman.

Speaking to reporters, Hero Alam said, "I was beaten by BNP supporters today. They were accusing me of speaking ill of Tarique Rahman. If anyone can show me video footage of me insulting Tarique Zia, I will walk around the entire city of Bogura with a shoe garland around my neck."

Hero Alam has expressed his intention to file a case against those responsible for the attack, alleging that the attack was an attempt on his life. "I have seen the faces of the attackers. This was an attempt to kill me, and I will sue all involved," he stated.

Previously, Hero Alam had filed a case in the same court, accusing Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former MP Rezaul Karim Tansen, and former Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal of misconduct during his campaign for the 2018 National Assembly elections and the by-elections in Bogura-4 on February 1, 2023.

He further commented that BNP members have become increasingly reckless and aggressive ahead of their expected return to power, claiming that their influence had grown even before the party assumes office.

"BNP people have already started attacking me, showing their growing power," he added.
