Kareena Kapoor's 'Jaane Jaan' beats SRK's 'Jawan' on Netflix

While all eyes were on Shah Rukh Khan's action-packed 'Jawan' to dominate Netflix India in the second half of 2023, it was Kareena Kapoor Khan's debut thriller, 'Jaane Jaan', that topped the list. Also starring Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat, 'Jaane Jaan' was released on Netflix on September 21.

According to official reports, 'Jaane Jaan', directed by Sujoy Ghosh, amassed a whopping 20.2 million views globally, propelling it to the number-one spot for Netflix India films of H2 2023. The film not only marked Kapoor's much-anticipated foray into OTT but also delivered a captivating narrative. 'Jaane Jaan' even managed to secure the 83rd position on the streamer's global most-watched titles list, solidifying its international appeal.

The film's gripping plot, featuring Kapoor alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma, kept viewers on the edge of their seats, solidifying its position as a must-watch on the platform. Jaane Jaan's success highlights the growing power of female-led content and Kapoor's enduring popularity.

'Jawan', on the other hand, amassed a total of 16.2 million views globally. Led by Shah Rukh Khan, 'Jawan' was one of the highest-grossing films in Bollywood. The Atlee directorial also managed to secure the 120th position on Netflix's most-watched films globally.
