Sadi Mohammad laid to rest

Renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad was laid to eternal rest at the Mohammadpur Jame Mosque graveyard in the capital Dhaka on Thursday. 

He was buried following his namaj-e-janaza after Zuhr prayers.

The legendary singer died on Wednesday evening. His body was found hanging inside a room of his home in Dhaka and taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital. 

Sadi Mohammad, who pursued his studies in Rabindra Sangeet at Visva-Bharati University in India, is the son of Liberation War martyr Salimullah and Jebunnesa Salimullah.

He debuted as a composer in 2007 with the album “Amakey Khujey Pabey Bhorer Shishirey.” In addition, he published the albums “Shraban Akash” in 2009 and “Sarthak Janam Amar” in 2012. He served as the director of the organization Rabi Raag.

He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Channel i in 2017 and received Rabindra Award by Bangla Academy in 2015.
