Veteran actor Sujata admitted to hospital

Veteran actress Salma Begum Sujata has been admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka. 

According to her family source, Sujata felt ill on Tuesday evening after returning home from shooting in Gazipur. Later, she was admitted to the hospital.

The legendary actor was born as Tandra Majumder in Thanapara area of Kushtia. She is best known for her role in Rupban (1965) as Rupban Konna. 

Apart from acting, she also veered into film directing in 1986. Her lone directorial venture was ‘Arpan’. Besides, she has produced films from her three production houses namely ‘SA Films’, ‘Sujata Productions’ and ‘Dipali Kathachitra’.

She was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her contribution to the film industry.
