Hina Khan reacts to Israel-Palestine war: Extremely sad we lost innocent lives
Indian actress Hina Khan was recently caught in the eye of the storm after she faced backlash for her opinion on the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. Speaking exclusively to IndiaToday.in, she cleared her stance.
HINA KHAN ON ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT
She said, "I have just put out on my social media and I would like to say one thing -- it is extremely sad that we lost innocent lives from both the sides. It’s extremely sad, that’s what I feel sad about, that their lives have become a battleground.”
For the unversed, Hina Khan had taken to her social media handle earlier to hope for a world where humans can "rise above all differences" and not sacrifice innocent lives. However, her opinion was questioned by the internet. In fact, one of the social media users wrote: “Ukraine has all the right to fight back against Russia, but when Palestine tries to fight back against Israel it becomes terrorism. Don't support hypocrisy.”
Hina didn't hold herself back from voicing her opinion and quoted the tweet with a lengthy note which stated that she is well aware of the history of Palestine and Israel and has only expressed her views.
HINA'S WORK FRONT
On the work front, Hina Khan recently walked the ramp as a showstopper for the INIFD Launchpad show on Day 1 of the Lakme Fashion Week. She made a show-stopping entry in a partially embellished petal skirt teamed with a cropped, long-sleeved wrap-around, white blouse with notched lapels.
Hina's film 'Country of Blind', which released in the US on October 6, and is yet to hit Indian screens later this year, has garnered rave reviews from Golden Globe-winning filmmaker Siddiq Barmak.
