People pay last respects to actor Farooque
People from different walks of life, including politicians, cultural activists and social workers, paid their last respects to legendary actor and parliamentary member Akbar Hossain Pathan, popularly known as Farooque, at Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on Tuesday.
His body reached Dhaka from Singapore by a special US-Bangla Airlines flight around 8am and was taken to his house in the city’s Uttara. From there, his body was brought to the Shaheed Minar at 11:45am for paying last respect to him.
The last tributes were paid to him with floral wreaths on behalf of President, Prime Minister and Speaker.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader paid last respect on behalf of his party. Apart from, different political parties, cultural and social organizations and general people paid their last tributes to him.
The actor breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Monday morning.
He had been suffering from different ailments and undergoing treatment at the hospital for a long time.
Farooque, also a film producer and businessman, was elected MP from Dhaka-17 constituency in the 2018 National Election.
