4th Bangladesh Film Festival to begin in Kolkata on Saturday
A five-day long 4th Bangladesh Film Festival will begin in Kolkata, West Bengal, on Saturday.
As many as 37 Bangladeshi popular films including four documentaries and eight short films would be screened in the festival, reports BSS.
The four documentaries are- Hasina-A Daughter's tale, Badhya Bhumete Ekdin, Ekti Desher Jonno Gaan (Song for a country) and Modhumoti Parer Manushti Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Most of the films, which were released in Bangladesh recently would be screened during the festival being organized by the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, Kolkata with the support of the ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the government of Bangladesh, the Deputy high Commission sources told BSS.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mamud will open the festival at Rabindra Sadan at 4pm on October 29 as the chief guest. Babul Supriyo, Minister for Information Technology, electronics and tourism, will attend the function as the guest of honour while eminent film Director Gautam Ghosh as special guest.
Eminent film artistes Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury and Mosharrof Karim, among others, will join the opening ceremony from Bangladesh film industry, sources said.
Apart from the documentaries and short films, 25 full-length recently released feature films, which have earned huge acclamations would be screened in Nandan-1, 2, 3 halls in Rabindra Sadan till October 2.
The 25 feature films include- Gunin, Hridita, Beauty Circus, Hawa, Paran, Payer Tolay Mati Nei, Paap Punno, Kalbela, Chironjeeb Mujib, Rehana Morium Noor, Nona Jaler Kabbo, Raat Jaga Phool, Lal Moroger Jhuti, Goor, Golui, Gondi, Bishwa Sundari, Rupsha Nadir Banke, Shuttle Train, Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na, Na-Dorai, Komla Rocket, Gohin, Baluchar and Unpanchat Batas.
The eight short films are- Dhor, Moyna, Tarnsit, Kothai Pabo Tare, Fera, Nari Jibon, Kagoj Khela and Aarong.
