Shamim Hossen's new short film 'Kathgoray Mayer Somman' has been released.

Written and directed by him, the film was released on YouTube channel MK Entertain on Monday night.

Lovely Akhter, Shamim Hossen, Enayet Rajib, Cynthia Parveen Pallabi, Choto Ibrahim, MD Arfin Islam, and Roza have played the lead roles in the short film.

However, Milon Khan produced the film, Ismail Hossain Sourav co-directed and supervised, and Sagir Khan filmed.

Shamim Hossen said, "Many parents become neglected in their old age. Many parents have to go to court to get maintenance from their children. It's really painful. We are becoming selfish day by day. We are forgetting the responsibility of the child towards the parents. I have made a short film about such an incident. I hope everyone will like it."

Shamim Hossen is working as a sub-editor in the sports department of the daily Jugantor. The first short film written and directed by him 'Jodi Thake Nosibe' was released in 2019. Since then he has written and directed three dramas and more than 20 short films.

Recently, two of his plays titled 'Nawab Alam' and 'Prem Samrat' have received a good response from the audience.
